Unraid Won't Boot on new PC

Featured Replies

Having an issue after getting a new CPU and MB for my unraid server. The system won't boot into the OS. USB is correctly detected in the UEFI and I set the boot priority and even tried a boot override but it just won't post. I put the unraid usb drive into my main system and am able to boot into Unraid no issues.

Old System: Intel 3700k + ASUS P8Z77 WS - Boots fine

Main PC: AMD 5700X + ASUS Crosshair Hero VI - Boots fine

New System: Intel 12400 + MSI Z790-P - Won't Boot

I tried disabling fast boot but it had not effect. If anyone has any other suggestions I'm down to try them before I just return the board.

Try formatting thumb drive with Rufus and then copy the Unraid files to it.

Rufus settings:

Boot Selection = FreeDOS

Volume Label = UNRAID

File System = Large FAT32

Ok I finally got it to work. Went into Unraid boot USB and enabled UFEI booting. I renamed the folder "EFI-" to "EFI" and I reran the make_bootable script again just in case.
