Docker won't start / Drive mounted read-only or nearly full when its not

Featured Replies

Hello I'm running into a view issues.

1. Krusader and Plex won't start and give me an error 403.

2. I've tried disabling the docker, scrubbing and then deleting the docker.img, however, the image will not delete. Now when starting the docker, the docker tab shows with "Docker Service failed to start". If I restart the server, it stays the same, however, turning off the server the docker tab will work.

3. My cache drive also disappears upon restart and I can't start the array because there's no cache drive. If I turn the server off and back on, the array works with the cache drive showing and mounting correctly.

4. After turning off and back on, I receive errors with "Drive mounted read-only or completely full. Begin Investigation Here:   More Information"

I'm thinking something is wrong with my cache drive or Plex is corrupt and not sure what to do. Cache drive has used 279 gb of 1TB.

I've attached my tools>diagnostics

NVMe is dropping offline, reboot and post new diags before array start.

  • Author

My cache drive NVMe is missing when restarting. When turning off and back on, it will show up. Plex will work for a few minutes and then stops.

Attached for the log after restart with no array.

New diags after this then please.

Here are the diags after "Turning off the machine, and then turning the machine on"

Notes:

1. Everything works fine and all my dockers work. Eventually, lets say an hour, Plex will stop working and I get an execution 403 error.

2. My server files are still accessible. All hard drives show healthy on the dashboard.

Here is the device console for the Nvme

Btrfs is detecting data corruption on the pool, start by running memtest, then scrub the pool.

I ran a memtest for several passes with no issues. After completion, the array started, I disabled my docker and my vm's and begin the scrub. Within 1 min, the unraid GUI from my local computer freezes for 1-2 minutes and upon reconnection it appears my cache drive unmounts and the scrub option is no longer available. The drive still shows itself as mounted on the main/dashboard.

My unraid machine shows:

BTRFS: error (device nvme0n1p1) in btrfs_commit_transaction: 2494: errno=05 IO failure (Error while writing out transaction)

BTRFS: error (device nvme0n1p1: state EA) in cleanup_transaction: 1992: errno=-5 IO failure

Fix Common Problems still states: Unable to write to cache Drive mounted read-only or completely full.

Recommend backup and then re-format the pool, but keep monitoring, if more corruption errors are found, there's still a problem.

Exact the same problem here/

Just so I understand correctly, the cache drive won't stay mounted, which makes it difficult to save the data which is basically just the appdata folder.

I don't have many applications outstide of Plex and Krusader. Is there any other method I should do to allow me to backup the data?

  • Community Expert

If you have or can get a Plex backup, then blow it away and start over after doing what JorgeB suggest.  Restore Plex backup and call it a day.  If unable to get a backup, you may be configuring Plex manually.  Shouldn't be too tough as your libraries should be just fine.

Krusader don't need anything but a fresh install.

Post the complete diags, based on the error it should remain mounted read-only.

See attached and steps taken below.

1. Server turned on, all is good, start the CA backup utility to backup my cache drive. Cache drive disconnects. Posted diagnostic.
