Seagate drive? [SOLVED]

Featured Replies

Has anyone had experience with this drive?

I have been staying away from seagate for a while now, bt given the costs of drives these days I look at price a little harder.  This is a pretty good deal with the promo for $109 on a 2 TB drive.

I did a search for the model numbering the forums, but didn't come up with anything.

Thanks for any input.

I bought 8 of them last year when they were on sale for $65 each... couldn't help myself :o::)

I ran them all through 2 passes of preclear... they all passed ;D

Put 2 in my system back in September... been running since with no problems... 8)

I picked up between 5-7 of these myself when the retail box versions were $55 last year...

Like you, I was skeptical. but the price was right and i needed drives...

So far no failures.

I have 3 or 4 in my secondary unraid and 1 or 2 in my WHS2011 box and 1 as a passthrough drive in my ESXi box as the system drive for my other WHS2011 box.

the only thing i have noticed is they run a little warmer then other green drives. speed is not so bad either.

I'm running four with no issues or failures. Ran three Preclear passes on all, no problems at all.
