September 25, 20241 yr Right now the parity check function can only be done at fixed internals. But sometimes 'shit happens' and an UnRAID server does not shut down cleanly and parity is checked on startup, or for some reason the user had to manually trigger a parity check. All the same, a scheduled parity check could then happen soon after. Would it instead be possible to offer the option to set it to 'Check parity at (time) since last check was run'? So say you do 3 month intervals, but for some reason parity had to be checked, the scheduler is now counting down 3 months from that check and it resets?
September 25, 20241 yr Since there is a community supported plugin for customizing parity checks, take a look through the support thread and see if you can accomplish what you want already, if not, ask to see if it can be added there.
January 7, 20251 yr I second this and the parity check tuning doesn't offer this. It only manages increments/pause/resume I believe as per the author. I asked the same question in that thread. Basically an option to run a parity check every x days and/or on a schedule, whichever interval happens first. Thanks!
June 21, 20251 yr I came here looking for any options on the parity check after X days since the last one. The situation was that I had to replace a drive. I did that on Thursday. The new parity check starts and finishes on Friday. Now, here we are on Saturday, and the normal scheduled check starts again. It would be nice to have something more like this as at least optional some day. Edited June 21, 20251 yr by Thunder7ga
