Can I keep using Unraid without replacing failed drive and not destroying my parity?

Featured Replies

So I recently have a failed 16 TB Drive and its taking a while to get the RMA since I live in a very remote area and I am currently low on cash to buy replacements. Its been a month and I wonder if I can use the unraid without the failed drive. I do have parity, I kept my system powered down as I did not wanted to destroy my parity. I have disabled all dockers and made sure nothing writes to the array and excluded the failed drive from all the shared before removing it and I only turn the server on when I want to copy some data and then turn it off but I have been wondering if I can just use the server for regular purpose without destroying my parity.

Thank you very much.

You can, but with increased risk, if another drive fails you can lose both.
