Coming back to unraid after a while. GPU passthrough question

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Going to be building a new server soon. Primarily focused around Plex. Thinking about an Intel 14500 cpu to leverage the iGPU for plex. I cant remember, were there any issues passing the gpu through to a VM (or docker)? Ideally it would be my only gpu but i think that might have been an issue in the past?

If you pass a GPU through to a VM then it is not available to the host (and thus docker).

Sorry if i wasnt clear, I just havent decided if i will host plex in a VM or docker yet, it will be one or the other. If i assign the GPU to one of those 2, will the system be able to boot or do i need to add another gpu in there?

Shouldn’t stop it booting.

I run a 12600k for emby as a docker.  Emby does its transcoding and I can boot local GUI just fine with no other gpu.
