Most of the distributors in the EU and especially in DE only sell to business partners. But I didn't order it via their shop on the webpage, instead I've just asked for an offer and the overall price to ship it to DE including tax was better than what I've found on other stores. Nevertheless, they've sent me the expected ETA given by Supermicro two days ago and currently Supermicro is having an estimated lead time about 12-16 weeks for the board So, basically it is also currently not available for me, at least not within a decent delivery time. Due to the fact, that I'm not in a rush to replace my current setup, it's fine for me. However, I can say that the communication with this seller is very good so far, and they usually respond within a day.

I also suspect there's high demand and limited supply just like last time. I was trying to obtain the board quickly before the semiconductor tariffs would be applied. The X13SAE-F wasn't available here until July of 2022 and it looks like SM is following the same rollout timeframe this time around. Thanks for the information.
April 21, 20251 yr Anyone notice idle power consumption keeps going up each BIOS update? Easiest way to delineate is by microcode: 0x117 = 22-23w 0x116 = 19-20w 0x114 = 15-16w I assume Intel is trying to placate benchmarks/gamers and ignoring idle power. Is anyone else getting hit by this on Asus or other brands? Almost a 10w jump. 😠

May 6, 20251 yr upgraded to v7.1 stable from 7.0.1. 265K iGPU is finally shown. Did have an issue with onboard NIC disappearing with the upgrade. Thank god for wifi support and mobo with wifi. Was able to get online and reinstall the RealTek 8125 driver again. Not sure why the driver disappeared with doing the upgrade. Thought it was worth mentioning.

I run a seperate 10gbe card so didnt have that issue thankfully with a 245k , other than reconfiguring jellyfin, plex and handbrake due to the sudden appearance of the igpu going operational in 7.1 and becoming card0 / render128 and moving my arc a310 to card1 / render129. I would say a successful upgrade

May 30, 20251 yr Hi!I'm also planning to make a new/updated build with ASUS PRIME Z890M-PLUS WIFI and 285k. Great to hear that the IGPU now works with 7.1. @Soitora @eventorism @Maximo101 : are there still problems with the nic out of the box? I would update to 7.1.0 before changing to the new board. Any hints how to prepare everything so that the NIC will work when starting the Unraid Server the first time? I don't know if there is any option to install a plugin on my old setup and don't activate it until the new board is starting and don't want to crash my existing server before I'm ready to swap the parts. Did you have any other problems with this board or do you have any hints regarding problems that could occur while migrating?Is anyone using this or an similar board without any additional PCI-Cards and could tell his power consumption in Idle? In my actual setup I have three SSDs, three HDDs and no additional components and my idle consumption is arround 30W (I5-11500) and anything more than 50W idle would make me think about it again...Sven
June 1, 20251 yr @SBehnke yes I had the issue of the Nic not working. I had to use a wifi usb adapter, login to the plugin store and download the realtek r8125 drivers ans that then enabled the nic to work, so I would say download those drivers and have that plugin on your flash drive in the plugins folder.Everything else was fine.Recently I had issues adding a 5070ti gpu using a riser cable and the pcie 5 slot, it detected/ saw the gpu but wouldn't load properly, I switched the riser cable to the 2nd pcie 4 slot and it works fine.Mine idled at 60w, after adding the 5070ti gpu it idles at 70w, specs in my signature Edited June 1, 20251 yr by Maximo101 Added idle power

As you are using a GPU I think I will get the server lower than 50 Watts in Idle.I can't find the plugin as a download-able version but I've read that it needs a reboot after installation, so this will be my last step before I shut the server down and change the parts. Everything is ordered and hopefully I can make the changes this weekend.Sven

June 9, 20251 yr @Maximo101 Thanks a lot, there where no problems with the NIC (installed the plugin before shutdown for rebuild), but the I got a few problems, since this is the thread for Arrow Lake I started a new topic under "ASUS Prime Z890M Plus Wifi - Problems with Sensors and BIOS Options".I will give some feedback to arrow lake as soon as the system runs smooth, but when changing the board also my most used Debian-VM crashed and I can't test the performance of the CPU and iGPU as this debian-VM is my video cutting system (the main reason why I wanted MORE POWER) and now I have to set up an new VM.Sven
June 10, 20251 yr As my Arrow Lake build now is ready and running here are my thoughts:with Unraid 7.1.3 I did not notice any problems directly related to the CPUI have one video cutting VM (debian) and do some H264 encoding -> this is blazing fast, my old I5-11500 used the full capacity on the CPU on one encoding-instance, now on one encoding-instance on my 285k it only uses about 66%, but I think this could also be related to the changes made for VMs in 7.1.3 (CPU now is migratable and other stuff), with two encoding-instances the full capacity is used and without doing any benchmarks my enconding is 3-4 times faster than before (regarding the time it needs)bigger problem after upgrading to 7.1.3 and the new board and CPU was that the mentioned VM did not start, after a lot of pain and trial and error I was not able to save the VM and had to set up a new VM, but there is no data involved, only the settings of the needed apps were lost, but I did not use the VM after updating to 7.1.3, so this could also be the problemiGPU works also very well and fast, I use the iGPU with a Tdarr-Docker and Tdarr makes H265 from the encoded H264 (maybe the VM is now fast enough to directly encode to H265, I will see, on my old I5-11500 there was no way to directly encode to H265, encoding and reencoding was ways faster than direct encoding, maybe I will have a try) and as on my last setup with I5 encoding from H264 to H265 on the iGPU uses quite low resources and while the iGPU is available it should also have a job to do. As these processes are fully automated I don't know exactly how much faster these processes are but the speed for reencoding is also quite impressiveProblem with the iGPU: as I never touch a running system the Tdarr was quite old and I had to update Tdarr to the actual build and had also to use the new version of my preferred Tdarr-Plugin to get it workSo, if anybody is planning to use Arrow Lake, for me the migration was a little bit tricky and I still have some issues with the new motherboard, but actually I would say it was worth the pain.Sven Edited June 10, 20251 yr by SBehnke

That didn't work, system would boot, but no network. I came back to my laptop with boot USB, I removed the driver r8125 that was there and installed your files. Restarted system and it was a thing of beauty, up and running connecting remotely. If you had not posted these file I would have been fighting for hours, So thank you...
June 18, 20251 yr I am glad it was helpful.I had issues last year when i upgraded my server to the new asus MB, that was an annoying week as i had no wifi adapter and could not get any copy of the plugin i downloaded to work (spent ages trying to install python and manually build the driver without success etc), I borrowed a wifi adapter to get network back up then downloaded that plugin.Recently my server seemed to remove all my plugins after the latest upgrade process, and then reverting just threw a spanner in the works with no network etc. I then just rebuilt the flash usb drive and then replaced with an old backup (with those files on there) and my server is running again, but im just going to leave it at unraid version 7.0.0.I keep multiple backups (on the backup drive on the server itself), but also periodically manually copy a backup from there to another backup drive on my main pcSo keep in mind that upgrading versions with these newer MB might remove the plugin.
June 23, 20251 yr @Maximo101I remember reading that issue with upgrading somewhere, Totally stoped me from upgrading to 7.1.4 from my 7.1.3. I started to do it, (REALLY OCD, and seeing that, 'Update Available', messes with me!). and then was like OH NO it is up and running leave it alone. I have way too much to still do, fixing issues left from the crash with the old MD and CPU.And for some reason, I have no clue, about 1/3 of my music is gone. Folders just no longer there on the drives, and I have everything set to put anything removed into a Trash folder with Auto Clean turned off, none of the missing folders are there! (Maybe my server just has a thing against the 80's, since it was a lot of that and my older country music)But I am loving the new Speed, Handbrake whips through files now, something that would have taken 1 hr to do now completes in a few mins. July 5, 20251 yr Has anyone reached more than C2 Pkg on a 15th gen CPU? I have a 265k and tried with the ASUS W880-ACE and the Z890M Prime but I just cannot get past C2. ASPM is enabled on all devices (not via script but natively) but yet still the CPU just cannot get past C2. Inside the Bios in the CPU information section it lists C3 State as not supported but C1, C2, C6, C8 and C10 are supported. I wonder why C3 shows as unsupported as it should be available as per Intel specs. I have tried newest ubuntu with newest kernel 6.15 and also on windows but C2 is just the limit resulting in a power draw with nothing attached and every onboard device disabled of over 20W which is just too much.If anyone could share their results that would be really nice. Note that powertop must be compiled from source because 15th gen is only supported in the newest version.

No one is buying arrow lake and intel doesn't care it seems. (raptor lake got the same treatment but was eventually fixed). "C3_ACPI" @ ~95% is the best I can get which looks like C8.6.15.2 kernel is required to fix idle power regressions.Every single BIOS update has made idle power higher. 0x116 is good and 0x114 is better but has less performance.0x116 = 19-20w6.15.2+ = 17.5w6.15 SLPC power profile = 16.5wMonitor blanked = 14.5wBooted headless = 12.5wAFAIK, 10w is the floor with arrow lake.
July 6, 20251 yr I was testing with 6.15.4 so that shouldn't had been the issue. I don't think intel_idle is the problem. Are you sure about the raptor lake fixes? There are no specific mappings for raptor lake (13th&14th) gen and those certainly can go beyond C3. I think there was a proposed kernel patch to reuse the same mappings as alder lake but it's not been merged.I have also noticed the increase in power consumption after updating the BIOS.Edit: The same was also true on Windows. July 6, 20251 yr The issue isn't whether or not C-states are working (they are) it's just they are not reported in a human readable format that is tweaked by intel. AFAIK, raptor lake reports correctly now in powertop although some still report it as broken.GitHubAdd Intel Arrow Lake support by nasahlpa · Pull Request #...This commit adds the model numbers for Intel Arrow Lake (ARL) processors.The only boards worth testing for lower idle would be an H810 system; Asrock and Asus both have them. My theory is that arrow lake can't go below 10w due to the chiplet vs monolith design at least for LGA socket. AMD has this issue but they are way worse at 2-3x higher idle than arrow lake.ARL-U has no issues hitting low idle (<10w).
