Wake on LAN (wol) problems

Featured Replies

Hi,

my Unraid system v6.12.13 is installed on a ASUS H97-Plus mainboard and according the BIOS documenation, it supports WOL over PCIe.

When I click on the standby icon (moon) in the dashboard, my server goes into standby and WOL works fine when I'm using the onboard LAN (eth0) -> the LED of the NIC blinks in standby. Sadly it doesn't work when I'm using my 2.5GBit network card in PCIe slot (eth1) -> no LED blinks on the NIC.

The card supports WOL, at least I get no error message when using this command:

ethtool -s eth1 wol g

According my knowledge, I have setup the BIOS settings correctly (see attached photos).

What kind of setting I'm missing?

Who is able to help?

Any idea?

Thank you for help!

This is the problem, you need to confirm does 2.5G switch support link on when NIC in 10M/100M link speed.

Not sure, how to check and test this? I tried a direct LAN connection between Win 11 Laptop with 1GB LAN to 2.5GB LAN just with a patch cable (no switch or router). But it is the same issue: when Unraid server goes into sleep, the LED of the 2.5GB card is off.
