October 13, 20241 yr I migrated my server (6.12.4) to a new build after which I am getting “Device eth0 does not exist “ and unable to connect to network. It is an onboard 2.5gb on Gigabyte Z790 D, which is recognized both in the BIOS and under System Devices. So far I have upgraded BIOS to latest, deleted network.cfg, switched from static to DHCP, tried different ethernet cables and ports, turned off VT-d in BIOS. After scouring the forums I am now wondering if this is associated with some issues with RealTek RTL815 drivers. https://forums.unraid.net/bug-reports/stable-releases/610-rc3-6115-realtek-rtl8156-usb-25gb-nic-not-working-r1919/?page=2 https://forums.unraid.net/topic/141349-plugin-realtek-r8125-r8126-r8168-and-r815267-drivers/page/11/ I am still a bit of a noob, so I wouldn’t know how to install this driver-plugin without internet, or even if it is the right solution in the first place, so would massively appreciate any assistance or support to help resolve this. I have attached some screenshots and diagnostics from this morning. tower-diagnostics-20241013-1624.zip PastedGraphic-1.tiff PastedGraphic-2.tiff PastedGraphic-3.tiff
October 13, 20241 yr Community Expert Solution The r8169 driver is being blacklisted, delete /config/modprobe.d/r8169.conf from the flash drive and reboot.
October 13, 20241 yr Author Thanks, @JorgeB - that seems to have done the trick and I am now back up and running on the network. However, it appears that r8169.conf re-installed itself, so after my second reboot i got the same issue again and had to delete the file again. Is there a way I can prevent that driver from being installed? Edited October 13, 20241 yr by deathprod added screenshots
October 13, 20241 yr Community Expert You could try deleting the "unraid-r8168" plugin and rebooting in case that is doing it.
