October 13, 20241 yr Hi folks, I "was" running unraid on a Medion system. I had 4x 18 TB drives sitting in an Addonics external disk housing. The external disk housing supports connecting via esata or usb. Since esata did not seem to work, I opted to connect using the usb port. This setup entailed two PSU's and no proper control of hard drives, thinking of sleep, SMART settings etc. So today I decided to try and fit the 4x 18 TB drives into the Medion cabinet. With some work this worked out. Tried to reboot my Unraid system => the array could not start. The next thing I did, was take the 4x 18 TB drives out of the Medion PC, and put them back into the Addonics (usb) disk housing. As I had taken a photo, I could easily put the drives back in the same physical order. Tried to reboot with the intention to check out the drive order, but => the array could not start. The next thing I tried: In the Main view, I can select any of the 4x 18 TB drives as either disk1, 2, 3 or 4. As far as my logic goes I have a maximum of 16 different disk order configuration possibilities. (Some searching yields there are 24 combinations) So I tried selecting each of the 4 drives as the first drive (while the 3 other drives remained unassigned / missing). Each time, Unraid seems to do some thinking, but then returns "wrong" next to the Disk number. This of course can't be true, nevertheless I can not start my array. What are my options of sorting this out? Can I manually mount each drive to inspect some config file maybe holding the drive ID? Thanks for helping out!
