October 14, 20241 yr Hello, today I woke up to a disk in error state, after it passed SMART I started the rebuild process. However, while checking if the drive was being emulated from the phone I tapped on the spindown button of the disk being rebuilt. I can see from disk log that there is a spinning down + read SMART (ie spin-up) entry at the same time. Could this have caused issues in the rebuild? Since I am only 2 hours in the rebuild process, am I better off canceling the rebuild and restarting it? (can this be done?) Or should I not worry? Edited October 14, 20241 yr by Eibe
October 14, 20241 yr Community Expert Solution No problem, it'll just have stopped and restarted immediately since there was activity.
October 14, 20241 yr Author Thanks, wanted to double check. I will just run a zfs scrub on the disk after its rebuild then.

For reference when you see the read SMART in the log this indicates that Unraid has detected that the drive has just been spun up by an access so that Unraid re-reads the SMART information. In your case it would have been caused by the rebuild process and is quite normal.
