Unable to connect to Unraid GUI through Chrome on MacOS Sequoia

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

I have been unable to connect to my unraid server until recently.

I just updated both my MacOS to Sequoia 15.0 and Unraid 16.12.13.

My network is running on Unifi 4.0.20 on a Unifi Dream machine Router

I have searched online and i have reset my cookies, cache and tried even on incognito mode to see if it was any of the settings but i still doesnt make a difference. It still shows the site is unreachable. show the error Err_address_unreachable

When i try using my safari browser i am able to connect with no problems.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what else i can try?

Thanks!

No solution for you.

But similar problems here.

Both my Unraid machines are running 6.12.13.

Since i upgraded my Mac to macOS Sequoia, the problems started.

  • Network speed is dropping
  • Broken pipes of VNC-Connections
  • ...and so on

I think Apple needs to fix the problems...

I'm running MacOS 15.01 on M1 Air with no such issues. Unraid 7 however and not 6.12.13.

Fiirefox/Floorp, Safari, Orion and Chome browsers all working with Unraid.

No network speed issues related to Unraid. The speed issue I'm facing is that at various times during a Time Machine backup, all cores go to 100% which affects various tasks. It can cause window update issues, video playback pauses, page loading (in any browser), etc.

So 2 avenues to check out:

1. Maybe Unraid 7 (beta 3 currently) will work better for you guys

2. Make sure you're not getting affected by background MacOS processes killing performance/network

I went with 7 to allow running without an array and for the upgraded ZFS support. IMO, it's just as stable as 6.12 I was running before. It's running on 4 systems, all of them production, 1 of them is my edge router/firewall and another my home automation system which need 24/7 uptime.

I was going to say something about DNS and pinging... then I read that you were able to connect to it via safari, so that eliminates most of what I was going to say, but you could try accessing the system via the IP(should you have been using the hostname before) that might work...

welp that's my 10 cents... good luck

Just for information:

My problem has been solved.

It was a problem with my router (AVM FritzBox!).

There is an option called EEE. When it is disabled, I have full network speed again.

Support said that sometimes switches can be a problem if they are part of the network.

My switches have been there for months. But the network speed dropped right after the upgrade to Sequoia.

Whatever.

Hey all,

I came across another thread recently that spoke about this and it mentioned the privacy settings (on MacOSX) needed to be changed.

Went to check and realised the chrome Local network access had been disable. Not sure when it changed.

But now there is a solution to this!

Settings --> Privacy & Security --> Local Network --> Enable Chrome

Hope it helps someone in the future.

Thanks all!

Here's a bit of a counter point: Chrome doesn't appear in the privacy settings on my system(s) and works fine to access Unraid.

I haven't a clue as to how apps appear in that list frankly. Floorp (my primary browser) is there, but I know I didn't have to enable it manually.
