October 15, 20241 yr Hi, I recently tried to spin up a few windows gaming VMs in an attempt to merge my hardware a bit. My setup is as follows: - nvidia gpu that I pass through to some VMs (one booted at a time ofcourse) - half my cores are isolated for gaming VMs only - cores are pinned to my VMs, no cpu pinning on my docker containers (seems to work) - sunshine for streaming (moonlight for client) - itsmikethetech virtual display driver to make my gaming VMs headless (https://github.com/itsmikethetech/Virtual-Display-Driver) It is working, but I do have some issues: - for some reason, booting my VMs that utilize the gpu takes a very long time (time between starting the VM and unraid reporting it is started) - My framerates are still a big chunk lower than bare metal (about 50% lower), I wonder if this is normal or if a certain setting in unraid is unoptimized for gaming VM use Anyone who has encountered these problems before? zion-diagnostics-20241015-1848.zip
