ZFS (Mirror) Pools doesn't seame to be fully Functional ?

Featured Replies

I updated to the latest BETA 7.0.0-beta.3
I startet with a clean system (3 new ssd disks 2x500 1x120) and created two pools one with the 500GBs disks ZFS mirrored,
and one with the 120GB disk ZFS.

As you can see here on the print screen the status of both pools doesn't change to green, even after two days.
I have tried several times to remove the pools and recreated the pools again, and reassigned the devices,
they were corectly re-imported but they don't change both to green, even after hours and days..

What do I have to do so that the pools are displayed normally, i.e. function correctly..??

And there is another strange behavior: when the pools are stopped, the dashboard shows the status of the devices like this:

And somehow, once the pools are started again, the status of the devices is no longer shown on the dashboard:

Not sure what happened exactly since the pools had already been created before this boot, but cache2 is not part of the pool

Stop array, click on both pools and then "remove pool".

Create the new cache pool only for now with a single slot, add sdb, start array, stop array, change the pool to two slots, add sdc, start array, post new diags.

Results:

Stopped the array, and both pools removed:

Created the new cache pool with a single slot, and added sdb:

Started the array, but even with this only one sdb it doesn't get green..

Stopped the array, changed the pool to two slots, added sdc, restarted the array.. same as before it doesn't get green..

Something is not right, there cannot be a "all data will be deleted" warning for a new pool, stop array, remove the pool again, reboot to clear the log, add the new 1 slot pool again, assign the device, and if you still see the warning post new diags.

Here you are... Thanks for your help, I really appreciate.

I stopped the array, removed the pools, rebooted to clear the log, added the new 1 slot pool and assigned the device sdb.. But still doesn't get green..

No there was no warning before array start..

Are you leaving the fs set to auto or changing to zfs? If the latter repeat with auto, you are importing an existing pool, so it should always stay in auto

Thank you so much, that was the reason why the pools were not working correctly.
I didn't know that, I rather assumed that the file system has to be specified when you recreat a new pool.

Anyhow the pools are working fine now.. :)

Maybe unraid should add a query at this point and double check this and point out a message when importing an existing pool, that the filesystem should remain on auto.

While you don't need to specify the filesystem for an existing pool, it should not have caused that issue, so possibly a bug, will report it to LT.
