my unraid has been fairly stable for years, currently with 1x 8tb parity, 6x 8tb data and 3x 6tb data.  one of my 8tb data drives shows a ton of errors and unraid disabled it.  i decided it was time to start adding larger drives so i bought a couple 16tb drives.

 

What would be the recommended steps to upgrade a parity drive to 16tb but not losing the emulated data from the disabled/failed drive? 

 

I’m also upgrading from an 8 port lsi hba to a 16 port lsi hba but that can wait.
