February 26, 201214 yr Hi All, I am hoping that someone can help me. My setup is I have 5 1TB Drives and I decided that I wanted to add another 1TB drive to the array. I added the disk and then I decided I didn't want it so I removed it from the server. Now when I start the array I get the disk showing as "Not Installed" on the main page. I want to remove this from the array as I have physically removed the disk from the server. I have run the initconfig command to rebuild the array information but I am not seeing any change as yet. I have attached a screenshot showing my Main Page. Any help would be appreciated.
February 26, 201214 yr When responding to the prompt from initconfig you must answer with a capital "Y" and lower case "es" Otherwise, it does nothing. I'm guessing you typed yes instead of Yes Joe L.
February 26, 201214 yr Author Hi, I stopped the Array and then via telnet completed the command "initconfig" and answered Yes. It did say Completed, though I am not seeing any change on the main page. The disk is still present and the Array status is still amber. Any more help would be greatly appreciated.
February 26, 201214 yr Author Yep page was refreshed. I have attached another screenshot of the main page. As a side note with the drive that is now showing up as "Not Installed" I did not unassign this drive before removing it from the server. I simply unplugged it and took it out and then booted the server back up. So basically my request is how to remove a drive that hasn't originally been unassigned.
February 26, 201214 yr I hope i can help. Did you try this? Stop the array click on the drop down for the disk in question and select none. Start the array. thornwood
February 26, 201214 yr Author I have stopped the Array and have taken a screenshot of the options I have for Disk 5 (the one that was removed). I also did an Identify and the below is from the syslog. February 27, 201214 yr Author Fixed. I had to select New Config on the Utils page....didn't work when using the initconfig command via telnet.
