October 24, 20241 yr Beginning two days ago, my server has randomly started freezing/crashing. It will work fine, then out of nowhere it is unresponsive. This has consistently gotten worse the past few days. Memtest ran fine, no errors. I'm beginning to point my finger at the mainboard, but not entirely sure yet. I'm also thinking it *maybe* could be the flash drive. I downloaded the diagnostic from Tools. I'm not sure what to upload for someone to look at, could I get some assistance please? I'm about to rip my hair out.
October 24, 20241 yr Author Here are my diagnostics: I believe this is the file after freezing as well: I appreciate both of you. jarvis-diagnostics-20241024-0923.zip syslog syslog-previous
October 24, 20241 yr Author Just received this upon restart (trying to get another syslog to compare)
October 24, 20241 yr Community Expert That looks like a power/connection issue, but should not make the server crash, syslogs posted only covers a few minutes up-time.
October 24, 20241 yr Author Interesting. This is an old Kingwin PSU. Wondering if it's finally going. Tried another restart and got the same screen as posted above.
October 24, 20241 yr Author Changed PSU, swapped RAM. Crashed again. Bad SATA cable? syslog syslog-previous
October 24, 20241 yr Community Expert syslog-previous only covers 8 minutes of up-time, was that when it crashed?
October 24, 20241 yr Author Yup, it hadn't been on for very long. I had to screw in my PSU, so I powered it down thinking everything was fine. Back on for only a few minutes and just freezes.
October 24, 20241 yr Community Expert A crash so quick suggests a hardware issue, and not surprisingly there's nothing relevant logged.
October 24, 20241 yr Author Alright. I have another motherboard I'm gonna swap in later, hopefully that solves it. Thanks again.
October 25, 20241 yr Author Swapped the motherboard out. Went from an M5A99FX PRO R2.0 to a SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0, 12 hours no issues so far. Thanks again.
