Interface Ethernet Port 0 is down. Check cable! But I still have Internet and Web Interface Access

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm exploring two possibly connected issues. Out of nowhere, my binhex Qbittorrentvpn won't connect to the trackers (host not found error) in my explorations of troubleshooting I see that Unraid network settings reports "Interface Ethernet Port 0 is down. Check cable!" I've poked around on the forums but I haven't seen A) someone with the same issue. It seems most others with the error can't access the internet from their server. I seem to be able to as I can load the CA B) I'm also a little too new to Unraid and networking in general to take the simplified instructions and test them comfortably. I'm quite capable if the instructions are clear and thorough but "go try changing xyz" leaves me a little confused. I've attached my diagnostic zip.

Other things I've tried:

  • Restarted the server multiple times
  • Cold boot the server
  • Switched the ethernet port on both my Terramaster and switch
  • Changed DNS servers

That's because you have a bond active, and the cable is connected to eth1.

Thank you! That fixed it. Any ideas why it would pop up with that error after several months without issue?

Do you suspect that would have anything to do with my Qbittorrent issues?

That error should have been there always, unless you also had cable connected to the other NIC, and should be unrelated to any container issues.
