Two types of flash backup?

Featured Replies

I recently had my usb drive die on me, and I had to restore my setup from my backup. Luckily I had one, and I was able to write it to a new usb drive and transfer my license. A success story. My question is about the flash backups. It turns out I had several types. The first one was around 600mb and named tower-flash-20241018-ddaf320.zip The other was almost 2tb, and named tower-v7.0.0-beta.2-flash-backup-20241006-0115.zip

I restored using the larger one, and it was smooth sailing. It seems like it was a complete snapshot of my old usb drive. I just dont know how I made it. If I generate a backup using Unraid Connect I get the smaller version. Can anyone elaborate on the two types?

I have found it.

Selecting 'flash' (under Boot Device) directs you to a page where you can initiate the creation of a larger backup. The button labeled "FLASH BACKUP" does not actually flash your drive; instead, it generates a new backup. A more accurate label might be "Create flash backup."

Unraid Connect is responsible for creating the smaller backup version.
