Fractal Design Define Mini

Anybody used one of these cases for unRAID?

I am looking for a SFF server but the options are limited so wanted to use this case as it is small (ish) and I like the looks.

What components did you use in it?

Thanks in advance

Have just got a hold of a Supermicro X7SPA-HF-D525 so will be upgrading the motherboard over to that as soon as I can find the time. Otherwise see my notes about the front fans.

The case looks nice, but the performance/cooling is sub par if you ask me.(if you are going to fill it with Hdd's, if only a few drives then it would be ok, but who can stop at just a few?)

Size wise it's the same height as an Antec 300 but a little wider(5mm), I have then sitting next to each other.

;D

Yup! Works well for me now but think I might go up to the Define XL.  Have 3 in this shot, 6 in it now.  Looking to expand to 10-12 so need more space! Very nice case however.

Antec 380W 80+ Bronze PSU (being replaced with Seasonic 560W 80+ Gold)

Fractal Define Mini (switching to define xl for more drive storage space)

Just purchased a Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 SAS Expander as well.

Currently 4x 2tb EARS drives and just got 4x Seagate Green.  Also added a 1tb 7200 cache.

I have filled mine with a  variety of drives and I'm having trouble keeping the drives cool during parity check - I think one of the drives hit 50 C. I've added an additional fan into the front (Antec 3Cool on lowest setting) and still had to remove 2 drives.

Im currently running 2 x 1.5 TB Samsungs 5400 rpm and 2 x 1 TB WD Greens and HD temps stay in 35-40 range.

Great case but I'm pretty disappointed by cooling performance.

Strange, parity checks on all of my drives never pushed them over 40C.
