Remote Shutdown?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is there a way to shutdown the server remotely through a mobile phone app, or shortcut?

Thanks,

Jon

Any remote location you can login to your server from (ie phone browser), you can shut it down.  Big button on the dashboard.  Was there something more particular you were looking for?

There is also the Controlr plugin and its associated apps on iPhone and Android app stores.

Yup. And remote connection can be done easily from Unraid Connect.

if you have ssh enabled you can ssh into the system and run poweroff.

In terms of a app/shorcut no. Any solution would require some kind of remote port forward, vpn or script to be preconfigured beforehand.

HA would be my recommend go to for the potential to have a app..

You would have HA connect to Unraidto do the comand at HA or UNraid level... and create a toggle when off to run the power off command by login in to unraid...

To not bork things.. One could add a check to see its "up time" first and if it is less than 5 min to move the toggle on... and check uptime is xyz before it can tunr off if toggle is off...

This way you have a nice togle to push and configured script to check uptime etc... but a lot of stepes to get there...

Having multiple keys and server I still don't have a working unraid connect... I'm aware of some of it, but can't utilize it... its getting better but the unraid connect web ui is still a longs way off...

That's too bad. I haven't had the need to use it outside the home myself, but I've used it a number of times to quickly download a flash backup and for testing. When remote, I can connect directly to any of the servers without it, as I'm running with Tailscale always up. :)
