October 30, 20241 yr Hello there, I know there is an old topic (but it was solved), but I'd like to ask You for a help with my problem that I'm having lately with my Unraid Server. Well either if I restart my Unraid Server, or just Disable/Enable DOCKER tab (rarely, for any kind of custom settings which are not allowed while DOCKER runs) I cant get all of my docker containers to start (5-7 containers from the first row of my folder list starts) (list below), rest are in "the loop" of starting with "Please wait... starting up containers" notofication. Couldn't start more so what I did is I've disabled AUTOSTART in every docker folder, and made a poweroff procedure. Right after the system started, I could manually start every docker without any problems. Even if I click on every folder of my containers to run, the just start properly. My whole appdata share is on NVME drive. Yes I know its not the fastest one, but still should manage to start docker's even after few minutes right? Maybe I have something not properly set. Also seems like the "wait" feature doesn't make anything better. Can I ask You for a help on how can I deal with my problem? Thank You. unraid-diagnostics-20241030-2054.zip
October 30, 20241 yr Community Expert click container size. This sound more like your docker image has been hit. and there is no more free space with due to volume or logs in the other dockers... You can try running this script with will delete the logs of the first 60 with highest to see if they start after...

In the mean time: The images and the shared context indicate that you’re dealing with an Unraid Docker issue where only some containers start on reboot, while others hang with a "Please wait... starting up containers" message. Here are some steps to troubleshoot: Docker Image Issues: Sometimes, the docker.img file becomes corrupted, especially on Unraid. You can try deleting and recreating the docker.img file. To do this, stop Docker, delete the docker.img file, and then recreate it from the Docker settings page. Autostart Delay Settings: You mentioned that Autostart is disabled. However, Unraid has a built-in delay option for Autostart containers. Go to Settings > Docker and look for Docker Auto Start Delay. Setting a delay might allow the system to initialize resources for each container instead of overwhelming the NVMe drive all at once. (advance togle add a 10 -30 sec wait before unraid tries to start the docerk auto... Docker Custom Network Configuration: Since you're using macvlan, network conflicts can occasionally prevent containers from starting properly. Switching to bridge mode or adjusting custom network settings may help. Alternatively, using ipvlan instead of macvlan can sometimes resolve these issues. *Or making a ipvlan to use with docker that it shouild... November 3, 20241 yr Community Expert Solution 1. remove of the docker image. This will remove all the dockers in the docker gui on the web page (DON'T WORRY!) they are still there and the data volumes are still there. As long as your volumes are still set to your disks. Some containers or templates require another path for their settings... if it isn't mapped to a volume/disk, it's in the docker image. (* Looking for squids documentation on this on the forum, he outlines very well ) Ideally. Go to setting > stop docker set to no... Then delete "docker.img" file. Then recreate docker.img I'd recommend using a xfs image version with at least 50 GB or more. Then start docker. Next restore previous dockers. Unraid Web UI > docker tab > bottom left add container. Select a docker you had in the list and click apply, no data should be lost... Review: 2. auto start with delay Docker web ui toggle at top right advance view: As you can see I'm running a 2 docker system for photoprism mysql and the docker photoprism with autostart there is a wait option. I have set my photo prism to wait 10 sec so mysql is up before photo prism to start. You can setup your dockers with similar autostart to help initial resource load or fix some start issues. November 4, 20241 yr Author Hey there, must say that yesterday I've watched a lot of SpaceInviderOne, and IBRACORP videos about how docker works in Unraid server. I admit that I should watch them earlier, but sometimes is exactly how they say it; better late than never. I did not delete my docker.img file. But what I did first is that I checked my btrfs scrub status. Ther were no errors. Next thing was to add wait variable to my docker. Some of them (small ones) wasn't, some of them are with 5,10,15 and even 30 seconds timeout. And I must admit, that after stopping DOCKER in settings, and relaunching it; every docker started, as it should. Of course it took longer that usualy - but it works. So at this moment, when nothing is broken, crashed, there are no errors, I won't change it for now. BUT if there will be a problem in the future, I know which steps should I take to properly deal with this issue. So for now, I would like to thank You for Your time, explanation, and seems without a doubt, that You have a lot of selfless help and empathy.
