February 29, 201214 yr Wiil it matter on which SATA-ports the disks will be put, when replacing a motherboard? Or will Unraid sort this out and put the disks in the correct slots? I'm on 5.0b12a
February 29, 201214 yr 5 is better at sorting itself out but I recommend a snapshot of the setup. At least you can re-order the drives if the situation arises.
March 1, 201214 yr 5 is very good at auto detecting sata bus changes. I would run a parity check before you pull your drives from the old board and again after the rebuild. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
March 1, 201214 yr I agree, 5 is very good at handling this IMO. I have just swapped cases for my array and added two drives, replacing parity. At first boot up, all of my data drives were in the correct location and green balled, the old parity drive was parity and green balled. I changed the parity drive and it told me I had the wrong drive, and off I went to rebuild the new parity. About half of my drives are plugged into different SATA ports, 5b13 had no trouble locating the drives and putting them into their correct slots. ymmv?
