November 2, 20241 yr Honestly if i could afford it i would opt for paid support right now, 2 drives out is data loss critical and the reaason why writing to the array in disk fill mode is aterrible idea. If i did lose dataits possible that i'll lose the most important 2-4TB. No warning, no pending error nothing to indicate that my server is on the brink of collapse. Parity 2 (The only WD40EFRX) & Disk 4 (MB4000GCWDC_Z1Z9D43P) The server is acting like they're "offline" like just turning them on would resolve the isssue. Unfirtunately it does not, and i cant see anything obvious in joining the two failures. But i also feel like im looking harder thaan i need to and missing the obvious.' Could anyone available please take a look ASAP Id really appreciate it. Also apologies for the typing, crappy new AlibaExpress wireless KB i Find it odd thatt these 2 disks appear to have failed at the same time, (as theyre physocally beside each other). I've attacged diags, i'm going to relieave my superstition and physically seperate the drives. yoda-diagnostics-20241103-0054.zip
November 2, 20241 yr Community Expert The diags are after rebooting, at least twice, so we can't see what happened, but SMART looks OK and two disks dropping at the same time is almost always a power/connection issue. Emulated disk is mounting, assuming contents look correct, check/replace cables for both disks, especially if they share something in common like a power splitter, and you can then rebuild on top, and re-sync parity2 at the same time: https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/storage-management#rebuilding-a-drive-onto-itself If it happens again, save the diags before rebooting.

Part of the problem is that there wasn't a notification that something had occurred. So my reaction became "I've been stuffing around in there lately I'll just reboot and remove some excess usb drives etc" not the process I'd follow if I'd been presented with a failure notification alert "There's an issue, generate logs and investigate etc" I can never seem to manage an alert to respond to when something problematic occurs. It's me who notices when I login to the interface. Anyway I'll continue to Un-ruin my server (I shuffled alot of crap to "help"} and report back

It's been the least reliable of all. But I don't want to waste your help on that topic. That's DIY 110% I replaced the sata cables and rejigged the power (but they're still sharing a string) and they're both offline still. Parity2 "in theory should" come green and be put of parity sync? Or won't know until next sync or forced? I'm 75% certain that drive 4 contained 0 user data. I'm unsure if this may or may not help at this point. I also don't understand the parity2 disk VS the potential disparity that might exist between P1 & P2 and how that all relates to device offline. I'm getting tired and confused now. But I've attached diags, and I'm going to grab a couple hours sleep. I caught this late which has turned into early. Im lost at what I should do next, if you could task me with "what now"? WWYD? I have many different sized hammers at the frustration that every problem that causes issues begins as a unnecessary self introduced error. I didn't need to be inside the case when I set this off. And because of how I responded I too don't precisely know occurred prior to the last time I saw all green - self error also yoda-diagnostics-20241103-0426.zip
