March 5, 201214 yr I added another drive to my server yesterday which pushed me over the 4TB line. I was previously using Samba and connecting to it with my Mac. After adding the new drive it said that I only have 200GB free. I switched to NFS because I thought it would fix this problem. Unfortunately it didn't. I tried AFP before NFS but had some issues and read that the AFP database gets messed up if you share user shares. Can someone please help me fix this 4TB limit with either SMB or NFS? Thanks!
March 5, 201214 yr If you are using user shares, after a drive is added to the array you need to stop and start the array for the new drive to actually show up in the disk space calculations. Annoying little bug. For some reason, emhttp does not restart the shfs, so it doesn't recalculate it's stats properly. You only need to do this once (per drive add process).
March 6, 201214 yr Author I have restarted the server multiple times. AFP showed the right size, only SMB and NFS don't.
March 6, 201214 yr Author I figured it out. OS X actually sees the correct space, it is SABnzbd that does not recognize the space properly.
