November 11, 20241 yr So I ran into a weird problem. My Unraid OS is 6.12.4 with 12 disks (2 parity and 10 data). When I rebooted after upgrading to 6.12.13 more than half my drives were not recognized and my array was offline. I shutdown the server and restarted it with no change. So I rolled the OS back to 6.12.4 and all drives were working, show healthy/green with the array working fine. I did do the Upgrade Assistant prior to upgrading and that was good. Lastly, before downgrading I did the diagnostic download for Unraid to look at but thought I'd post here to see if anyone has ideas.
November 12, 20241 yr Author Absolutely, it is attached. If it helps - I now have all my data safely moved off the array so I can do a new config or anything needed (no fear of losing data). Thanks theoasis-diagnostics-20241111-2230.zip
November 12, 20241 yr Community Expert Upgrade again and post new diags for comparison, the LSI should work fine with the latest release, could be a hardware compatibility issue with the newer kernel.
November 13, 20241 yr Author Ok, did the upgrade and same result. Attaching the diagnostics and I did screenshot of my dashboard on both. theoasis-diagnostics-20241113-0154.zip
November 13, 20241 yr Community Expert Diags are not working, looks like a forum problem, try uploading them again in a few hours.
November 13, 20241 yr Community Expert It's still not working, you should not need to post the diags again, just see if you can download them, and if yes, and post something to bump the thread.
November 14, 20241 yr Author For another update - I downgraded back to 6.12.4 and then tried upgrading to 6.12.10 which worked. All the disks are functioning and shares accessible. So its something in 6.12.11, 6.12.12 or 6.12.13 that is causing the issue if that helps. Also as time allows I can try the other 2 upgrades to see if those two works.
November 14, 20241 yr Community Expert Solution Nov 13 01:48:10 TheOasis kernel: mpt2sas_cm0: unable to map adapter memory! or resource not found Nov 13 01:48:10 TheOasis kernel: mpt2sas_cm0: failure at drivers/scsi/mpt3sas/mpt3sas_scsih.c:12348/_scsih_probe()! HBA is failing to initialize, likely related to the newer kernel, try a different PCIe slot if available.
November 16, 20241 yr Author I was afraid of that. Unfortunately I cannot change PCIe slots as I have 2 LSI cards which are 1x8 each. I will just report this as a bug and hope the next release will work. Thank you very much for your help.
