November 13, 20241 yr Hello hive mind! I am very new to unraid. What I've learned is all from YT videos and tutorials so I am not extremely savvy with it yet. My current set up is 3 (refurbshed) 10TB HGST Ultrastar drives for mass storage. Its 20TB usable with 1 parity drive. I recently got a new drive. Same make, size and model to add to the array. I connected up all the cables to it and booted the server. Stopped the array and went to add it but it did not show up. I checked my cables again and then went into the BIOS to see what if it was detected. It was not. Fearing a dead drive I attached it to my main PC. It spun up and loaded fine. Tested it without issue so I know it 100% works. I threw it back into the server and tried again, same issue, not detected by Bios or Unraid. I went and updated my BIOS to version (v2902). Didnt help. Tried different cables and power cables, still nothing. Re-checked my BIOS settings, all seem fine All drives are connected via sata cable into the ports on the Motherboard, no expansion cards are used. Hope someone here is able to help as I'm lost and out of ideas My server is using the parts I had laying around after my PC upgrade Intel i7 4700K CPU ROG Maximums Formula VII Motherboard 16GB Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz DIMM 240-pin (4x4GB) Corsair 860w PSU
November 13, 20241 yr Author Yes I tried other ports and cables. I looked at the diagram for my board an the ports I'm using are the same type the other 3 are.

November 24, 20241 yr Author Sorry for the delay. Amazon took its time to deliver. The Molex to SATA adapter did work. The HDD is showing up in Unraid now. I dont understand why the other cable did not work. Thank you all for your suggestions
