March 7, 201214 yr Hello. I have a fast internet connection via my cellphone. I can share it as a hotspot. Is there a way wherein I can add a wifi lan card to my unraid box, and have it connect to my cellphone when it's available. This way, my wired connection and my wireless connection can combine to become much much faster. Thanks

Thanks stock unRAID does not support wireless LAN cards, but you could A. compile a version of Slackware that does and configure it as you desire (difficult) or B. use a wireless router as a bridge extender and connect through it or C. use a Ethernet Gaming Adapter such as one of these: http://www.buy.com/th/ethernet-gaming-adapter.html (the same types of units are sold to connect blu-ray players and set-top-boxes over wifi instead of wired LAN.) Here is one example: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036OR924?ie=UTF8&tag=terwhitecblo-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0036OR924 You just need to make sure whatever adapter you buy has a LAN connection to connect to the unRAID server and not a USB connection.
March 8, 201214 yr How much faster do you think you need to go. If you can use gigabit wired LAN connections, then WiFi will not add that much, percentage wise. The claimed speeds are hardly ever seen in real-world usage. If you cannot use gigabit LAN, then wifi could add speed, but changing to gigabit LAN might just be a whole lot simpler, and more reliable.
