Parity check super super slow / doesn't work

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a parity check every month.
the last one was one week ago but it didn't work properly, it was very slow so I stopped and reboot the server.
Yesterday I tried again to do a parity check, but same problem, it s very slow, it s copy the files a 200 Kbps...

If someone has any idea ... ?

Thanks in advance !!

Check/replace cables for disk6 and post new diags after a parity check start.

Assuming ata14 is the parity disk (which I cannot confirm as the syslog has rotated since the boot which would have provided that information) then you are getting continual resets on that drive which would explain the speed issue.

They look like what we normally see when there is a cabling problem (Power or SATA) so you should carefully check the cabling.   Are you using power splitters as they can also cause this sort of symptom.
