[SOLVED]Device at /dev/sdb after reboot is now /dev/sdd

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

System still see's that drive as Disk1 (only item in array for the moment).

I installed vbox last night. After it slowed my system down considerably, I resorted to scrapping it and rebooting. Now the array is started and seems to be working but the precleared single drive has changed /dev assignments on its own from sdb to sdd. Should I be concerned if things are still able to read/write as usual?

Currently on 5-beta 12a.

This is not unusual.  Drive assignments are made on a first come first served basis, which can change from boot to boot depending on which drive responds faster.
