[6.12.10] Atomic move behavior

Featured Replies

Trying to move some files using midnight commander from /mnt/user/Projects/02 POST DESIGN to /mnt/user/Past Projects/03 PAST PROJECTS.

/mnt/user/Projects/02 POST DESIGN is on a cache disk

while /mnt/user/Past Projects/03 PAST PROJECTS is on the array.

I was fully expecting that the move will be atomic, and that it will only be moved from the cache to the array after mover is scheduled to run, as both directories share the same root directory /mnt/user.

Am I missing something obvious or is this correct behavior? Sorry if this has been asked before but couldn't quite find the info searching for atomic move in the General Support forum.

P.S. Have been reading the below, trying to understand FUSE and atomic moves.

I understand where you are coming from, where this behavior needs to be set within the share itself.

That is not the question though 😅

The move is across shares.
