Empty Drive with unknown usage

Dear Guru,

 

Ive had a drive lable Disk 7 which should be empty but there is 27.9GB of usage which im not sure what it is.

How do i check whats been utilizing the drive space?

The moment a disk is formatted you use space  to hold the directory structures representing an empty file system.

Thanks for the info. 

Also, since Share for Movie I've set the Allocation methos as High Water and Split Level Automatically split only top level directory as request.

Will it use Disk 7 after I assigned Disk 7 to the Array because seems till now Disk 7 still no new files been saved to.

Yes, but only once the other disks are fuller than then first split point, and they are not, also note that split level overrides allocation method.
