Random crashes/unresponsiveness overnight

Featured Replies

Hello, I recently made the switch to unRAID and after moving all my data and getting my docker containers setup I've been running into nightly crashes. I've tested this with only a couple docker containers (Plex and Tautulli) running and all of my containers (Plex and Tautulli + arr stack), it doesn't seem to matter. Every night the system will crash/freeze, I'm unable to access any of the containers and I am unable to load the GUI from another machine or physically connect via display/mouse and keyboard.

I previously ram 2 passes of memtest without issues and currently running another round of memtest as I read it's recommended to allow at least 7 passes.

I even tried to reserve 0/1 of my CPU for unRaid itself, by pinning my docker containers to all other cores besides 0/1. I don't run any VMs. As suggested in similar posts, but that didn't make any difference.

All of my hardware is brand new and had zero problems when I was copying my data onto the array. Originally I had data separated over multiple hard drives and have since followed the trash guides in setting up my unRAID. The system never had any issues or froze/crashed during any of the data moves. It has only started to run into issues now that I am actually using the system.

Please see the attached diagnostic.

I didn't realize that the syslogs wouldn't be preserved after a crash so I just enabled syslog and will include them after tonight's crash. I was also thinking about removing 2 of my RAM as I saw some posts where people mentioned only using 2 instead of 4.

I'm hoping someone could please give any advice on how to proceed.

Please see the attached log from when it went unresponsive this morning

Multiple NVidia related crashes, try removing the GPU (or just the driver) and retest, there are also OOM errors, likely from containers.

thanks for the response. I've changed to a different drive and will test today. If that fails I will then remove the GPU and hope that clears it up.

I really appreciate the help on this. I've been going absolutely insane trying to figure out what is causing this instability.

for the first time it didn't crash over night! However when I checked this morning I did notice a couple containers weren't working, I'm thinking that's unrelated to the original issue?
I did see a few of these errors in the logs this morning though
"Nov 21 03:25:56 DerseUnraid nginx: 2024/11/21 03:25:55 [error] 24741#24741: *356858 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: 192.168.40.10, server: , request: "GET /plugins/plexstreams/ajax.php HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock", host: "derseunraid.local", referrer: "http://derseunraid.local/Dashboard"

I don't see any issues with the docker service in general, could just be an issue with those containers, also disable mover logging, it's spamming the log.

thanks for the help. I haven't had any freezing or crashing since changing the GPU driver.
