November 19, 20241 yr Hello, I just moved and took my Unraid-Server with me. Stupidly I forgot to prepare the server for moving. In my old home I gave my server a fixed IP. Now at the new location I have new router. The fixed IP is outside of the IP-range and probably has the wrong subface mask (not sure how I can see this). At the moment I have a screen and a keyboard connected to the server and can login on the server. However without a working IP I cannot reach the Web-GUI. My new router sees the device. But there is no IP and there are no settings to change anything. Is there an option to directly unfix my IP-Address in the terminal?
November 19, 20241 yr Community Expert given that you have terminal access without ip, i assume thats via a monitor? just type "slim" and the gui starts, for an easy mode. Otherwise, nano /boot/config/network.cfg and change the ips there, if you wanna stay on static (otherwise, you can just delete the file aswell) Edited November 19, 20241 yr by Mainfrezzer
November 19, 20241 yr Community Expert Yes, you need to edit the network.cfg file in the /config folder on the flash drive. This file is plain text with windows type line endings. You can do it from the command line as @Mainfrezzer suggests. Otherwise, shut the server down. (A quick push of the server power switch will start the shutdown process for clean shutdown. You can then pull the drive and edit it on your PC with simple text editor (like Notepad, EditPad, etc.). Edited November 19, 20241 yr by Frank1940
