Synology SMB remote share mounts but won't show files and freezes server

Featured Replies

Unraid 7.0.0-beta.4

The Synology share mounts and works fine on all other computers.  It used to mount and work properly on Unraid but now it mounts but when trying to browse to the share it locks up and never loads anything.  I have tried in both the built-in browser and Krusader and the same thing happens...freezes up and doesn't load anything.

I have tried:

-Creating new user on Synology with password that only contains numbers and letters

-Setting permissions in Synology for the user, the group, and checked the shared folder itself

-Activated the setting in Unassigned Devices to specify SMB version (Specify SMB Version when Mounting Remote Shares)

-Tools: Docker Safe New Perms

-Uninstalled/Reinstalled Unassigned Devices

-Changing the name of the Synology Share

-Using IP to load share instead of name given in search for shares

I'm at a loss here.  Any help is appreciated.

You are using Jumbo frames:

Nov 21 16:00:18 Cube root: Fix Common Problems: Warning: Jumbo Frames detected on eth0 ** Ignored
Nov 21 16:00:18 Cube root: Fix Common Problems: Warning: Jumbo Frames detected on eth6 ** Ignored

We do not recommend that because it is a challenge to get it set up correctly on your network.  It really doesn't do anything to improve your network throughput these days because the NIC cards are much better at handling LAN traffic, and it causes issues when not done correctly.

Set all your NIC cards back to the default mtu.

Thanks so much.  I can't believe I didn't think to change the MTU.  Back to 1500 and all is well now.
