File transfer issue on Mac for one share and not the other

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have two shares that I transfer files to. One share works great and the file transfer completes no issues at all. The other share has been working with no issue for months. Yesterday it started giving me the Mac error 36. Each share has a pool of drives. The share having issues I have 8gb free on one drive, 25 gb free on another drive and 5gb free on the third drive in the pool. I’m pretty confident that I have a cache to array system in place (but I can’t for the life of me remember how to check to ensure that is the case). I have my drives set up to spin down after x amount of time. The thing is when I go to add the file, besides receiving the error on the Mac, is I see the drive with 8gb spin up. Should the drive with 25gb spin up? The file is ~9gb. Also why is this share giving the Mac 36 error? Has anyone had this issue and know how to resolve it? Google isn’t giving me anything.

Post your diagnostics

when it says it posts the IP address is that talking about my internal network ip address?

okay, I got the file to transfer by switching the shares to "most free" instead of "fill up" so I wasn't too far off on my idea of it not wanting to spin up another disk. my question now is why did it all of a sudden not like to use fill up? I haven't had issues with this since I set up the Unraid server.

Hard to say without diagnostics and the specific share in question
