March 11, 201214 yr MY system has been operating perfectly until the other night. I have not added or changed anything on the server side of the system in at least 8-12 months. Now my unraid will only boot and start a parity check. Within 30 minutes or so the shares will go offline and the system freezes. My syslog shows segfaults throughout like this: Mar 10 23:45:15 unRAID kernel: df[8807]: segfault at 4 ip b7715749 sp bf975e78 error 4 in ld-2.7.so[b770a000+1c000] I have attached my syslog file, and my system specs are in my sig. Any help is appreciated. syslog-2012-03-09.txt.zip
March 11, 201214 yr Run memtest to check for errors. Segfault is an error when a program tries to access a memory address that is not allocated or does not belong to it. Ram going bad could cause this, especially for a known stable system with no changes, its likely its a hardware problem.
March 12, 201214 yr Author Thanks, I did not even need to run memtest overnight, it showed up rather quickly. I have pulled the offending stick, now just need to get a replacement, will have to run on 512 until then.
