Can't get into Bios

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've had my unraid system running for a while now, and have recently added a GPU, and want to add it to my windows VM, however I apparnetly have IOMMU disabled, but I can't get into my BIOS - I have got into Bios before when setting up the system.

Running:

Unraid 6.12.13 (recently updated)

ASRock B550M

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

24GiB DDR4

GPU is 1060

GPU comes up in the dashboard and have tested in a different system.

Things I've tried:

Displayport in each of the 3 ports on the GPU, nothing comes up on screen after 1-2minutes at all, multiple reboots...

Reseating graphics card, cables etc.

Display port onto Mobo - I know that the 5600X doesn't have onboard graphics but thought I'd try that...

I dont even get a post screen so I'm a bit confused as the system clearly launches after a couple minutes I can ping from command line on another PC and then login via a web browser.

Any thoughts? I'm finding this quite strange...

Google     asrock b550m bios key

OR

Google    asrock b550m bios reset

Also download the manual and read it.

Hey - I did previously try bios reset by removing the CMOS, letting it clear and putting it back in but didnt help at all, should have put that in the original post woops!

I have tried multiple times with all the relevant F keys or del or any other combination thereof, I just dont get any display output whatsoever (no post, not even the monitor indicating there is a signal coming on)

Have you tried removing the GPU to see if you can get into BIOS again?

Finally got into BIOS - turns out the system just wasn't happy with display port for any booting which is crazy to me, dug out an HDMI and just worked.

I hate computers

Still cant figure out GPU passthrough to VM though despite everything. A problem for another day...

I thought about it but the CPU has no onbard graphics so thought this wouldn't work, and I have a vague memory of ripping my GPU out my main PC to setup but it was a few years ago so the memory is hazy
