Unraid 6.12.10 crash / unreachable

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm experiencing Unraid Server (6.12.10) crashes every 1-3 days requiring me to hard reboot my Unraid system.

I'm running quite a simple NAS solution with:

  • Win10 & HASS VMs
  • Plex & DuckDNS Dockers

My Docker & Community Applications are all up-to-date and Fix Common Problems GUI is reporting no errors found. I did have MacVLAN reported (through Fix Common Problems plugin) when it was crashing and still experiencing same lockups / unresponsive / unreachable Unraid OS when setting to IpVLAN.

MemTest has passed.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know where to start in the Logs to help diagnose the issue.

I'm hoping someone can delve into the Logs and ascertain where the issue is.

Can someone pleease help?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Jeeve

Hi Jorge,

I've set the BIOS as mentioned (*As seen in uploaded PIC).

*Within Advanced\AMD CBS\CPU Common Options :

  • Global C-State Control = Disabled
  • Power Supply Idle Control = Typical Current Idle

My BIOS is still on the most up-to-date pre-beta which I've kept.

Motherboard:

  • ASRock B450 Pro4
  • American Megatrends Inc., Version P8.02
  • BIOS dated: Mon 6 Feb 2023 12:00:00 AM GMT

In respect to RAM speeds, I've dropped the SDRAM to DDR4-2400 as well.

Processor:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core @ 3600 MHz (Matisse)

Thanks for your input.

Hi,

My Ryzen 5 3600 ran well and good for about 2 weeks and then crashed again.

I believe the BIOS suggestion did well and truly make a big difference:

Before adjusting my BIOS i was getting running for about 24-72 hours. It is stable for longer now for at least 2 weeks which is much much better only, I can't say whats wrong now.

I've have Diagnostics of my UnRAID in its current state so I'll post with Diagnostics post-crash.

Thanks so much!

Unfortunately there's nothing relevant logged, this can also be a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker containers/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one, including the individual docker containers.

Hi,

I'm still experiencing issue with my UnRAID crashing.

This morning, I received Machine Check Events:Screenshot2025-03-21at10_51_03.thumb.png.539a2b9daa77125023ef8f11756e0ab3.png

PFA my diagnostics.

I've adhered to Ryzen 5 3600 3rd Gen Zen 2 architecture with DDR4-2933 MEM sticks (a pair) in line with the following table to no avail (tna):

Screenshot2025-03-21at11_01_56.png.123a6cd867680c4cd001f23ebd7c9c7a.png

Other things I've tried:

1) Suspend to RAM Disabled

ScreenShot2025-03-21at11_04_28am.thumb.png.50b3eb922eb0b41f374a9791e1fc2e2d.png

2) Safe Mode with No Plugins (& No VMs)

- Note. Plex is my only Docker. TBH, I've havent tried disabling this as I'm always using it. I understand I should perform this which I'll do on the weekend.

3) Graphics card swapped from nvidia 1060 to nvidia quattro

4) PSU swapped from Corsair 550w Gold to EVGA 650w Gold

5) Downgrading (I'm on 7.0.1 now)

6) DDR4 speeds to tna:

  i. 1866MHz

 ii. 2400MHz

iii. 3200MHz

As well as

*Within Advanced\AMD CBS\CPU Common Options :

Global C-State Control = Disabled

Power Supply Idle Control = Typical Current Idle

My MEM Test passed with no Errors

The only thing I haven't swap tested is my mobo & processor.

Any pointers before buying bits would be much appreciated.

With thanks,

Jeeve

That points to a hardware issue, possibly with the CPU.
