Home Assistant VM and USB passthrough issues

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I have set up Home Assistant as a VM and just recently some issues came up.
I have bought a HA ZBT-1 for ZHA and MoT (not in use yet) implementations.

Here my issues:
Every time I restart the system, the Stick is not getting passed over to the VM anymore (getting deselected every time).image.png.6ae344b3a39ef272ad8b06ea4b123da3.png

Now, when that happens, after selecting the stick again and restarting the VM for it to recognize it, most of my ZHA devices need to be reconfigured to work normal. That's really annoying.

Is there any way to have it select the device all the time? I did not plan to run around the house for an hour every time the system had a restart.

By the way, is it normal that the "optional" checkbox is getting ticked automatically after checking "Select"?

And my second issue was that I had a really hard time with the setup of ZHA using the stick. The VM did not recognize it directly and using the /dev/serial/by-id/... also did not work properly until restarting the VM multiple times while selecting and unselecting the device.
Might there be some wrong configurations?

Not really, on Unraid restart, I still have to assign the device.
