Random Crashes - Need Help

Featured Replies

Hello,

This is the first time that ive had a issue that im unable to figure out in my 7 years of using unraid, Ever since i have updated to unraid 6.12 and beyond. my server hard crashes after few days of runtime. I have attached some logs from the flash after the last crash, im not sure it crashed because of the persistent reason but i do see some weird stuff on 26th novemeber 2024 at 4am approximately.

Please help me out and i will post more logs when it crashes again

thank you in advance

The syslog in the diagnostics is the RAM version that starts afresh every time the system is booted.  To get a persistent log you should enable the syslog server (probably with the option to Mirror to Flash set) to get a syslog that survives a reboot so we can see what leads up to the problem.  The mirror to flash option is the easiest to set up (and if used the file is then automatically included in any diagnostics), but if you are worried about excessive wear on the flash drive you can put your server's address into the remote server field and log to to a share instead.

Assuming the syslog-previous cover the last crash, there's nothing relevant logged, this can also be a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker containers/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one, including the individual docker containers.
