November 26, 20241 yr Hello all again, I am puzzled why my cache device formatted with BTRFS is moving files correctly. While my other Server is not using the XFR format? I cannot get the device to move the files to the Array at this time. I have build up 1.46TB as I didn't notice it wasn't following through. How can I get the files to move first. Which format is the one that will work without any further input?
November 26, 20241 yr xfr is a new firestorm format extension to me. xfs, btrfs, zfs are the one i know that work native on unraid. Unassigned may see and mount the disk for file backup and copy but in this regard btrfs
November 27, 20241 yr Author I have three Servers, basically all are hardware updates from the previous build up. All are running the 6.12.12 software, noticed that the only differences I didn't catch as they were all software upgrade a few years back. I didn't pay attention to the Cache device that is causing the issue today. Two servers have the Cache formatted in btrfs, the only that is the problem has it in xfs.
November 27, 20241 yr The format of the drives would have nothing to do with whether mover moves the files or not. It will be a setting in the share that is the difference. Post your diagnostics (and the share in question that's not moving) if you can't figure it out
November 27, 20241 yr Author I have tried to run it a few times and it keeps hanging. I think the 1.46tb might be causing it to hang
December 3, 20241 yr Author Hello again, I believe that I had solved the issue with a simple directory change. Did not work. How do I force the cache drive to distribute its content onto other drives?
December 4, 20241 yr Author Cache drive: Partition format: MBR: unaligned ? I have a few drives that say this? On My Shares, I have Movies, Sitcoms
December 5, 20241 yr Both shares are configures to use cache, new data should go there, you can then run the mover so that it gets moved to the array.
