March 13, 201214 yr HITACHI Deskstar 5K3000 HDS5C3020ALA632 (0F12117) 2TB 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive $110 shipped after promo EMCNGJG42 (ends 3/19/2012) In my opinion, these are the best 2 TB green drives on the market today. Limit 1 per customer.
March 13, 201214 yr finally....not exactly the price i was hoping for but at this point i gotta take it lol ordered an hour or so ago and it shows shipped already....hopefully it arrives in functioning shape....im running out of time to use up my bandwidth cap for the month lol
March 13, 201214 yr Author True, nothing like it was 9 months ago when we were paying as low as $60 for a 2TB drive, but I do think that this is a reasonable price for a quality drive.
March 13, 201214 yr Prefer the Hitachi drives over everything else in 2TB flavor. I haven't had much luck with the Samsung HD204UI (1RMA, and another throwing read errors early in life>
March 14, 201214 yr temping. very tempting.. but after just getting some of these a week back.. ugh. decisions.. I just told myself no more 2TB drives... only larger... but with current prices I might have to sacrifice..
March 14, 201214 yr ditto.. I am so waiting for somebody to post a smokin deal on the 3TB (or better yet 4TB) drive of this flavor (Hitachi green), I bought 4 2TBs and swore no more of that size...
March 14, 201214 yr Yeah, I also swore off 2TB and was cycling in 3TB, but I haven't bought an HDD since October because I'm being stubborn. And know this is crazy talk, but I'm actually considering deleting some files off my array to free up space...
March 15, 201214 yr Author Yeah, I also swore off 2TB and was cycling in 3TB, but I haven't bought an HDD since October because I'm being stubborn. And know this is crazy talk, but I'm actually considering deleting some files off my array to free up space... Blasphemy! I too delete files from time to time, but at some point my time is more worthwhile than the money I would save by pruning my collection.
