[SOLD OUT] HP ProLiant N40L MicroServer - 179.99 with free shipping

I'm unable to add this to my cart.  Is this actually working for anyone else?

I was able to add it to my cart and start the checkout process.  I didn't complete my order because I'm not sure if I'll have a use for this.

Anyone know if this unit can accomodate a Ceton InfiniTV 4 PCIe tuner card?

Also, will it accept non-ECC memory?

Rajahal, I just saw on another forum that they were out of stock earlier but seems that they are taking orders once again.

NodNarb012, I honestly know nothing about this server, I just ran across it over at slickdeals.net which I check every morning and figured it might interest a person or two over here.  They have a 12 page thread going over there about it right now and skimming through I see they are sharing some of their experience with it.  You can probably get a good idea about what it can and cant do from there.

Anyone wanting to read about unRAID on the Microservers should go here . And yes, you have to use ECC memory I believe.

I already placed my order.  Hopefully they'll have stock to fulfill it.

A few posters on SlickDeals claim that it will run with non-ECC memory.  I have 2x2GB non-ECC sticks that I can throw in there to test once I get it.

Still not sure if the Ceton card will fit.  If not, I'll have to find another purpose for this or try to sell it.

Thanks for the post!

Now the link is down again, so I assume they are out of stock.  Lame!

You'll have no problem moving it here if you decide it's not for you. It's a fantastic unRAID platform.

Yeah, SD has that effect on websites with good deals.

Not only does it support non-ECC, you can use non-ECC and ECC at the same time -- I'm using 1GB ECC and 4GB non-ECC.

That's actually pretty cool. I'm assuming ECC is disabled when mixed like that.

You assume correctly!
