New user and greetings from France

Hello
Here it is, I finally decided to install Unraid soon.
I am a little over 50 years old, I live in the east of France (between Champagne and Bourgogne) and have been passionate about computers in general for a long time.

I had a Spectrum zx81 in a kit to assemble yourself for my 10th birthday (maybe that will mean something to some of you 😅), and then lots of stuff after ... Commodore, Amiga etc ...

I have the fault of being a big hoarder not very organized so hard drives everywhere, scattered files, etc ...

I chose Unraid for its simple appearance at first glance but which transforms, at least that is the impression I have, into a very powerful tool.
I like to document myself, see the possibilities, etc ... I find that the Unraid community is rich in resources. I don't really have any problems in English so this will help.
So I was hesitating between several of my PCs to get started when suddenly a friend offered to get me one of the Dell Poweredge T430s forgotten in a server stock in his company, so it's brand new and I thought it was a great opportunity to get started on the Unraid adventure.
I won't hide from you that I already have questions but I'm going to take it easy, and I'll post as much in the English part as in the French part.

Finally I wanted to say a big thank to Superboki who has already allowed me to understand a lot of things about the system.

Thank you too for welcoming me ;)

Welcome!

Like you I have lots of hard drives lying around and wanted to put them into a single machine but I've had a hard time finding a good case with lots of room.  There are a few cases out there with impressive space for hard drives but you need to buy extra drive trays or cages and those are impossible to find.

Anyway, think about what you want to do with your hardware and consider what you have and what you'll need to get.
