Questions about HDD's removed from a WHS

I'm planning to migrate from WHS to unRaid, and I'm not sure what to do with some of my disks. I have some EARS drives that I believe have the jumper on them already, and some that I aligned using the WD utility. Is there anything special I need to do with these disks once I have the data off of them, and I'm ready to put them in my array? This is a noob question, I know, but can I realign them? I know there is a procedure for aligning them, but I'm not sure if it's permanent once it's been done before.

 

Also, I currently have a Gigabyte board with HPA that I plan to replace when I repurpose my server. Will a preclear of my disks eliminate the HPA from the affected disks?
