November 30, 20241 yr I have an 8 drive array with 1 parity drive, total 9 drives. I want to upgrade two of the drives from 2TB to 6TB and remove 1 older 2TB drive. Previously when replacing the drives I would replace one drive at a time even though I had already moved the data off the drive. Is it possible for me to pull all 3 drives (which has no data on it) and install the 2 new 6TB drives and perform the reset array configuration one time? I know the data will be at risk while performing the parity rebuild, however that will be the case regardless especially since I want to remove one drive. My final configuration is to have 2 ssd M.2 cache drives with 8 drives on an 9207-8i HBA (1 parity, 7 data array) which is my optimal drive configuration unless I used the onboard SATA.
