Unraid bootet nicht, lande immer im BIOS

Featured Replies

Hallo,

Motherboard: B760M DS3H

CPU: Intel i3-12100

Arbeitsspeicher: Kingston Fury Kit (2x8GB DDR4) KF432C16BBK2/16

Laufwerke: - 2 x 14TB Toshiba Enterprise Capacity MG07ACA14TE

- 2 x 1TB Lexar SSD NM710 NVMe 4.0

Der USB-Stick mit Unraid: JetFlashTranscend 16GB

 vielen Dank!

Unraid won't boot, always ends up in the BIOS

Hello,

I need your help. Since early September, I’ve had my first Unraid server, and it has been running without interruption until last night. Yesterday evening, I performed an Unraid update, and after that, the server needed to be restarted. Unfortunately, it won’t start anymore. I always end up in the BIOS, but the system won’t boot. The USB stick with Unraid is still in the server, unchanged. The BIOS also shows all drives and the RAM.

What can I do?

System components are as follows:

Motherboard: B760M DS3H

CPU: Intel i3-12100

RAM: Kingston Fury Kit (2x8GB DDR4) KF432C16BBK2/16

Drives:

2 x 14TB Toshiba Enterprise Capacity MG07ACA14TE

2 x 1TB Lexar SSD NM710 NVMe 4.0

Unraid USB Stick: JetFlashTranscend 16GB

Thank you very much!

My Response:

The issue is likely related to the boot settings in the BIOS or a problem with the USB stick itself. Here’s a troubleshooting guide:

Check BIOS Boot Order:

Ensure that the USB stick is set as the first boot device.

Look for a setting like "Boot Priority" or "Boot Override" and select the USB stick manually.

Verify USB Stick Connection:

Ensure the USB stick is firmly inserted.

Try a different USB port, preferably a USB 2.0 port (these are generally more stable for boot devices).

Check USB Stick Integrity:

Insert the USB stick into another computer to confirm it is readable.

If the USB stick appears corrupt or unreadable, you may need to recreate it:

Download the latest Unraid installer.

Recreate the bootable USB stick and transfer your config folder from a backup to preserve your settings.

Disable Fast Boot/CSM in BIOS:

In the BIOS, try disabling Fast Boot or enabling CSM (Compatibility Support Module), depending on the motherboard.

Reset BIOS Settings:

Reset the BIOS to factory defaults, then reconfigure the boot order for the USB stick.

Update BIOS Firmware:

If the problem persists, check if there is a newer BIOS version for the Gigabyte B760M DS3H and update it. Sometimes compatibility issues are resolved with firmware updates.

Test USB Stick on Another Machine:

If possible, test the USB stick on a different computer to see if it boots Unraid successfully. This can rule out hardware issues with the server.

Simplified German Response:

Unraid bootet nicht:

BIOS-Bootreihenfolge prüfen: USB-Stick muss an erster Stelle stehen.
