December 2, 20241 yr Need help Unraiders! My flash drive died from a power surge along with my motherboard. In the frenzy of removing hardware that was smoking, i broke the sata port on one of my drives. Took sometime to re-gather myself and rebuilt my server, transferred license. See all my drives including my parity drives. But I need to REBUILD my broken drive :(. Im worried that by doing this, im going to lose my data as the parity drives need to be rebuilt. I could not get any of my configs back from the flash drive and I dont recall last when i backed up my flash drive. Is there any hope of rescuing the broken drive? How can i get my config back from my prior Cache? See pics. Help appreciated!!!!
December 2, 20241 yr Community Expert Are you sure the current assignments are correct? I assume disk6 is the one missing? If yes, you will also need a spare, same size or larger than the old one, I can then post instructions.
December 2, 20241 yr Author The current assignments are indeed correct for all of the other drives and I have a spare same sized drive to replace drive 6. Please walk me through!
December 2, 20241 yr Community Expert -Assign the new disk6 -IMPORTANT - Check both "parity is already valid" and "maintenance mode" and start the array (note that the GUI will still show that data on parity disk(s) will be overwritten, this is normal as it doesn't account for the checkbox, but it won't be as long as it's checked) -Stop array -Unassign disk6 -Start array (in normal mode now), and post the diagnostics.
