December 2, 20241 yr Hello, I had a hard disk with errors on some sectors. This caused the whole array to hang and I could no longer shut down the server. I have now replaced this hard disk with a new one. After 45 minutes in rebuild the array was stopped and i got write errors. I then shut down the system again and checked all cable connections. Now the same hard disk is displayed as “new device” and the actual hard disk is declared as “missing”. What do I have to do to restart the rebuild? Thanks for help!
December 2, 20241 yr Author Seems like i put in a old drive wich is also defect and i tried to start rebuild on that drive. How can i start a new rebuild?
December 2, 20241 yr Author Okay... Emulated Disk Share is working. I found that article: https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/storage-management/#rebuilding-a-drive-onto-itself But i'm a bit afraid of doing this, because when i select the new disk on the old slot, it shows "New Disk". Is this the way the parity gets rebuild? Or what i have to do? Thanks!
